Paula Cano

Creative Director + Owner

Hello!  I am so glad you stopped by.  I am so thrilled and blessed to be in this vocation, working with amazing families preparing for celebratory events large and small.  I am a very passionate person and have great love of my family and of people.  I have been working with my hands in the kitchen and to the table for more than 20 years, and planning beautiful parties for more than a decade.  I put great pride into each one, giving careful thought to the personalities of my Clients and showcasing them in their very best on their special day.  When I'm not playing dress up, tea or dance music rock star with my little girls, I'm scouring the back roads of Maine to find unique treasures to bring new life to for our rental division.  I love to see old pieces come anew and used in an abstract or interesting way.

I owe every success to God, my incredibly supportive and loving husband (see 'About Pete' below) and my beautiful family and staff.  We are encouraged and inspired by the people who hire us, and thus become part of our family for years to come.

Event Planning Assistant

Courtney contacted us in early 2015 with interest in an internship with us, and we were so impressed with her determination and drive (literally and figuratively; this girl commutes from Farmington while working towards completing her bachelors degree in Business and Economics at the University of Maine!) that we couldn't say no. She has brought her emmense love of the industry and incredible attention to detail behind the scenes and to every event in 2015, and she has taken on a greater role with our Clients in the coming season and beyond. Courtney's roots are in North Carolina and her Southern hospitality and charm are one of the many traits we're honored to have as part of this family.

Hand Lettering Artist + Calligrapher

I met this charming and uber talented  lady during the planning of her wedding in 2013 (also featured in Style Me Pretty here). Her incredible style and meticulously creative hand lettering on our chalkboards had us begging for more. She's been designing gorgeous signage for our wedding Clients ever since and we couldn't be more ecstatic to have her on the team. Among her many talents, Megan is an archeologist (dream job!) with the Maine Historic Preservation Commission and spends much of her free time re-habbing her 1770 home in New Gloucester. We love you, Meg!

Project Manager + Craftsman

I was so fortunate to have met this handsome creature some eight years ago, and although I had a hand in my search (online dating is a wonderful thing) I can't imagine where I would be today had I not had faith in that process.  Pete is my very best friend, and an amazing father to our girls.  He is also incredibly inventive, and works hard at perfecting many of our custom wood creations for our Clients.  He manages and maintains our inventory, handles deliveries and best of all, is a super Dad while Mom works.  I love him to pieces and I know you will too.
